Day 1. At the end of the day we meet at the hotel in Maastricht (The Netherlands)
Day 2. Maastricht (The Netherlands) – Aachen (Germany) 40 km
After breakfast we cycle 30 km to reach Germany. Today we are going to take some climbs. After crossing the borderwe will arrive in a short time in the city of Aachen. The Cathedral of Aachen is one of the most famous historic buildings in Western Europe. A visit is recommended!
Day 3. Aachen (Germany) – Monschau(Germany) 50 km
Today we cycle almost all day on a special cycle path. This cycle path is part of one of the longest paths in the world. It used to be a railroad, but nowadays it is a cycle path that passes through 3 countries. It’s the well knownVennbahn. During this ride we will cycle 110 km in total on this cycle path. In the afternoon we will arrive in Monschau, a historical and very characteristic town in the Eifel Mountains.
Day 4. Monschau(Germany)- Reuland (Belgium) 65 km
After breakfast we cycle across the German / Belgian border. We continue cycling on the cycle path through countryside, forests and smallevillages of Belgium. In the afternoon we visit the castle of Burg Reuland.
Day 5. Reuland (Belgium)- Vianden(Luxembourg) 55 km
Today we leave the Vennbahn(former railroad) and will cycle crossing two borders. First the Belgian/German border and then Germany /Luxembourg. We will encounter the beautiful Our river. In the afternoon we arrive in Vianden. A picturesque small village beautifully situated in the mountains. The impressive medieval castle of Viandenis worth a visit!
Day 6. Vianden(Luxembourg)- Trier (Germany) 70 km
We will cycle through some beautiful countryside, following the Our and Sur rivers. The rivers form a natural border between Germany and Luxembourg. Crossing these riverswe continually change country. On the way we visit Echternach, the oldest city in Luxembourg. Near the town Wasserbilligthe river Sur meets the river Mosel. We follow the Mosel until arriving in Trier. Trier is one of the oldest cities in Germany and was founded by the Romans.
Day 7. Trier (Germany) – Schengen (Luxembourg) 55 km
After breakfast we return to the river Mosel. The river forms a natural border between Germany andLuxembourg. Along the river we cycle towards the city of Schengen (Luxembourg). We arrived in the well knownwine region of the Mosel. There are several wineries where we can taste the famous Moselle wine. In this city on 14 June 1985 the famous Schengen Agreement (an agreement between European countries on a policy of opening borders and free movement of persons) was signed.
Day 8. Schengen (Luxembourg) – Metz (France) 65 km
We start our last day cycling crossing the border of Luxembourg and France. The whole day we cycle along the river Mosel or we are close to it. Before we finish our ride in Metz, we have a stop in the village of Thionville. The ancient city of Metz has a lot to offer. It has an extremely rich heritage and architecture and is not too crowded by tourists.
Day 9. End of the Tour
After breakfast our tour ends.
To participate on one of our tours please send your request to us by e-mail: email@example.com. After receiving the request, you will receive a booking confirmation. Registration is confirmed when the deposit is credited to CicloTurismoEuropa’s bank account.
Prices quoted are per person and do not include airfare. The prices are based on a double or twin room. If you want to have a single room, please indicate this at the time of booking. In this case there will be a surcharge. If you book by yourself and do not want to pay a surcharge, we can have a look if it is possible that you share a room with another participant. If this is not possible, you will be informed in time. Your accommodation will be in 3 and 4 star Hotels.
At the time of booking we ask you to pay a deposit of € 150,- and the rest of the amount until 3 weeks before the start of the tour. The deposit is non refundable. Only in case CicloTurismoEuropa cancels the tour we refund your deposit. If the reservation is made within 3 weeks before start of our tour you must deposit the total amount.
You can request cancellation by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The cancellation date would be the date that the email was sent.
Travel Cancellation Fees:
* The deposit of € 150, – is non-refundable;
* 100% in case of cancellation from 3 weeks before the start of the trip.
CicloTurismoEuropa can decide, due to a small number of participants, to cancel the trip. In this case an alternative is offered for another date or another itinerary. If you do not make use of the offer CicloTurismoEuropa will transfer back what is paid. Other costs that are made for the trip will not be paid by CicloTurismoEuropa. You will be informed about the cancellation due to lack of participants at least six weeks before departure. CicloTurismoEuropa has the right to cancel the trip in case of extreme road conditions, natural forces, border problems, strikes, illness or any other situation of force majeure. In case of cancellation by CicloTurismoEuropa for one of these reasons, you are entitled to a refund of the payment you have paid to CicloTurismoEuropa. If the cancellation occurs during the trip because of any of the above reasons, you are entitled to a proportional part of the fare. CicloTurismoEuropa will not pay for an alternative in case of cancellation. The costs of visas, vaccines and personal expenses in preparation for your journey will not be compensated. For claims you have, we refer you to go to your own insurance company.
